Before David started painting he was in the music industry as a DJ/Producer. He played in clubs and bars around Liverpool and also completed two college courses related to the subject. The highest one being a BTEC National Diploma Level 3, where he received Distinction, Merit, Merit in his grades. David also had another hobby - painting - and back then it was just the odd painting with acrylics. After a few years of doing a painting here and there the passion for painting was
increasing so much that he decided to quit the music industry and take painting up full time.
He started talking to one of his favourite artists, Peter Smith, who gave David advice on painting i.e. start painting in oil, painting techniques and so on. Having theses frequent chats with Peter has made his work even more exciting as he was afraid of destroying them. But turns out you just need to experiment and remember that things can be fixed. As David likes watercolour paintings, he also sought advice from his favourite wathercolour artist, Mike Jackson, who gave David some very good advice on style & technique.
David says ‘It was theses two artists that inspired me to start painting. They are true gentlemen and hold my deepest respect. I would personally like to thank you both for everything you have done for me; I appreciate it very much’.
David has just recently completed a course at Walford and North Shropshire College where he obtained a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. He is now putting all efforts into his paintings and will be exhibiting his work around the country for all to enjoy.
David is now becoming more recognised for his work and the demand for his paintings has increased so much he has now started to reproduce his work as limited edition prints. These can be bought directly from this website or from other outlets around the country.
